Maintain a Healthier Smile with a Tooth Extraction
Sometimes your natural teeth can be doing more harm than good. If you have decaying teeth, fractured teeth that cannot be saved, or overcrowding, Dr. Norman Katzoff may recommend tooth extractions to improve the health of your smile. Removing problematic teeth can reduce the risk of gum disease, additional tooth fractures, jaw misalignment, and other problems.
Reasons For Tooth Extractions
Dr. Katzoff will do everything possible to save your natural teeth. However, there are several cases where your teeth need to be removed.
Some of the reasons to have your teeth extracted include:
Tooth Extractions and Dental Implants
When you have a tooth extracted, the area where the tooth once was needs to be protected. Socket preservation is critical for maintaining the gum line and tissues to support a dental implant. If you are getting dental implants to replace the tooth, we need to make sure the socket stays intact and there are no signs of infection. We will provide you with post-treatment instructions immediately after your treatment to help preserve the socket and prevent dry socket.
